Overview Charming early-1970s Tonka camper/motorhome with the classic green ‘W’ Winnebago graphics. Pressed-steel chassis with plastic coach body and cab glazing. A display-friendly example with honest play wear—perfect for Tonka, Winnebago, and RV collectors. Highlights • Original Tonka pressed-steel chassis with plastic coach body • Iconic green 'W' Winnebago side graphics • Working free-rolling wheels; intact cab glazing • Compact shelf size that displays beautifully • Great gift for RV enthusiasts or vintage toy collectors Why you’ll love it It captures the golden age of the American road trip and Tonka’s rugged, kid-proof engineering. The Winnebago graphics and compact footprint make it a standout on a bookshelf, office credenza, or display case. Dating and background c. 1972. Most new Tonka toys can be dated to within one to three years; this camper was produced for a short run (approximately one to two years) during the early-1970s RV boom. Tonka—originally Mound Metalcraft of Mound, Minnesota—was renowned for durable pressed-steel toys that mirrored real vehicles of the period. Condition Overall very good. Stickers on the roof from prior play/ownership; slight oxidation on the chassis; minor finish wear consistent with age and use. Please review photos for details. Dimensions Approx. 6 1/8 x 3 1/2 x 2.5 inches (L x H x W). Care Dust gently with a soft brush or microfiber cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners; plastic and painted steel may scratch. If desired, a tiny amount of museum wax can help steady it on a shelf. Styling Display with vintage maps, travel ephemera, or alongside other Tonka and diecast vehicles. Great for a kids’ room shelf, study, or RV-themed collection.
