Karen Ford Ceramic Embossed Botanical Wall Plates with Blue Glaze –

Overview A coordinated pair of studio art pottery plates by Karen Ford, featuring embossed botanical surfaces with expressive blue glaze applications. The plates present as abstract compositions, where pooled cobalt and iron tones interact with the relief decoration to create depth and movement. Highlights Embossed botanical relief surface Expressive blue glaze with tonal variation Intentional crackle and pooling effects Matched pair with complementary compositions Suitable for wall display or shelf styling Why You Will Love It This pair works because it feels curated rather than repetitive. The glaze behaves like a painterly medium, pooling and breaking across the raised surface. The result is a modern interpretation of blue and white that reads as art rather than tableware. Dating / Background Karen Ford is a contemporary studio ceramic artist whose work explores surface texture and glaze behavior. These plates reflect late 20th to early 21st century studio pottery traditions, where form and surface are designed to interact rather than remain separate. Condition Excellent condition. No chips or cracks observed. Minor surface irregularities consistent with studio production and intentional glaze behavior. Dimensions (inches) Height: 0.5 Width: 8 Depth: 8 Styling Ideal as a wall-mounted pair, either vertically offset or side-by-side. Works well in modern, transitional, or chinoiserie-inspired interiors. Can also be displayed on stands as sculptural objects.
