¤115.00

OVERVIEW Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) pressed-glass vase with bold hobstars in roundels and vertical palm/fern panels, finished with a ruffled rim and broad, lobed foot. c. 1890–1905. HIGHLIGHTS • Authentic EAPG, late Victorian era (c. 1890–1905) • Dramatic hobstar roundels & palm/fern panels • Sculptural ruffled rim; scalloped, lobed foot • Clear pressed glass with excellent fire-polish • Decorative centerpiece scale at 9 in tall WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT This vase has the graphic punch that makes EAPG so displayable—crisp starbursts, leafy panels, and a ruffled silhouette that catches light from every angle. It reads equally well on a mantel, in a cabinet, or as a dining table centerpiece. DATING / BACKGROUND Form, mold detail, and surface fire‑polish point to late 19th–early 20th century American pressed glass. The pattern group is commonly described by collectors as “hobstar-in-roundels with palm/fern panels.” Closely related examples have been attributed to large combines such as U.S. Glass and Bryce, Higbee & Co.; an exact catalogue number has not been conclusively matched, so we present the attribution as “EAPG, likely U.S. production.” CONDITION Very good antique condition with typical signs of age and manufacture for pressed glass: minor base wear; a few tiny pinprick rough spots/flea-bites on some high points of the ruffled rim; occasional seed bubbles and straw marks from molding. Clear overall (any haze/tones in photos are from lighting). No cracks or repairs observed. DIMENSIONS Height: 9 in Foot diameter (approx.): 6–6.5 in at the widest lobes Mouth diameter (approx.): 5–5.5 in at the ruffle Weight: robust, feels substantial in hand CARE Hand wash only. Avoid sudden temperature changes. Line the interior with a plastic insert if using with strongly colored water or florist’s preservatives. STYLING IDEAS Perfect with garden roses, peonies, or a simple cluster of greenery. The sculptural base gives presence even empty—style on a console with books and brass candlesticks for a layered Victorian-to-eclectic look.
